Taking Care of Your Groomsmen

While it’s certainly true that on the wedding day, the groomsmen are the ones taking care of the groom, the groom also has some responsibilities towards his groomsmen. Before the wedding, the groom must choose his groomsmen. Usually, he will select his best friend or perhaps close relative (like brother or cousin) to be his best man and his other close friends to be his groomsmen. The groom’s party will have certain responsibilities. First, they must arrange the bachelor’s party and make sure everything is taken care of and invite the necessary guests.

Groomsmen Gifts for the Modern Man

Groomsmen gifts are fun to give, and even better to receive. They make a great token for a wedding party, something to mark and remember the occasion for years to come. It used to be, ties and cufflinks were standard groomsmen gifts. These are still great gifts, but now in today’s modern times, there are many more types of groomsmen gifts you can give.

Technology has made things easier for us, and small tech items make great groomsmen gifts. MP3 players are a popular item, and can also be engraved. There are so many other things too – like LED lights, laser pointers, portable gaming consoles, phone accessories and other such things are great geeky groomsmen gifts. Many men are into technology and they will surely appreciate such gifts.

Fashion has also evolved in many ways, even for men. Today, it’s not just about the shirt and pants. There are a wide variety of fashion accessories that can make good groomsmen gifts. Luxury wallets and other small leather goods are popular items, and so are hats, caps, vests, cufflinks, socks, shoes and even bags for laptops, backpacks or everyday use. These make good gifts and are useful as well, as they can be worn and used everyday.

Groomsmen Gifts for A Tropical Wedding

There’s nothing like a destination wedding to brings an exotic and romantic feel to a wedding. If you’ve asked your best friends to come and be your groomsmen, then you should prepare some groomsmen gifts to help them remember this special trip for the years to come.

Traveling can be a hassle, but not if you’re prepared. A document holder, with pockets for passports, boarding passes, receipts and such can help your groomsmen keep everything together and stay organized. A travel kit with a blanket, eye shade, socks and other travel essentials can also help them through a long trip.

When they arrive at the destination, you can also have a welcome pack ready for them. You can include many things in such groomsmen gifts, such as a map, a book about the locale, some snacks, and maybe even souvenirs.

If the location is the theme, you can also use this for your groomsmen gifts. For example, if you’re having a tropical Hawaiian wedding, you can get your groomsmen some matching Hawaiian shirts. If you’re having a French Château wedding in the South of France, a bottle of wine and some fresh cheese would make great groomsmen gifts. And, if you’re having a skiing wedding, you can get some warm gloves, long underwear and maybe vouchers for the ski lift as your gifts.

Wacky Groomsmen Gifts Your Friends Will Love

While many etiquette experts may think that weddings aren’t a time for gag groomsmens gifts, it really depends on the people involved. Many couples don’t take themselves too seriously, and so they may find it fun to give funny or gag gifts to their friends who know their sense of humor. Bridesmaids, groomsmen, even the parents of the couple may need a break from all the seriousness and just have a laugh at these gifts. So, if you’re looking for some groomsmens gifts to give, why not take a look at these ideas:

If you’re just with “the boys” (like at the bachelor’s party), you can be more flexible as to the nature of your gift – they can be a bit more risqué and ribald, like t-shirts with naughty sayings, some blow-up “friends” or some body part-shaped favors. T-shirts with funny slogans (purely for the bachelor’s party) are fun gag gifts too, and can make your party even better.

Of course, there’s other funny gifts that don’t have to be so suggestive. Personalized bobbleheads are always fun and can be made in the likeness of anyone in your party. If you’re into sports, some personalized jerseys, bats, balls, hats, etc can make great groomsmens gifts. If your friends like to drink, alcohol related items, like beer mugs, pub signs, shot glasses are also fun to give (and receive.) Whatever you choose, you can keep it light and funny – save the serious stuff for the ceremony (then you can party at the reception!)
