Taking Care of Your Groomsmen

While it’s certainly true that on the wedding day, the groomsmen are the ones taking care of the groom, the groom also has some responsibilities towards his groomsmen. Before the wedding, the groom must choose his groomsmen. Usually, he will select his best friend or perhaps close relative (like brother or cousin) to be his best man and his other close friends to be his groomsmen. The groom’s party will have certain responsibilities. First, they must arrange the bachelor’s party and make sure everything is taken care of and invite the necessary guests.
They must also coordinate with the bride’s party for wedding arrangements. Traditionally, they also serve as the ushers during the wedding ceremony. In turn, there are certain things the groom must do. First, he must arrange for the grooms mens fittings for tuxes, shirts, shoes, pants and whatever else they need for the wedding. Next he must also arrange for the groomsmens gifts. These groomsmens gifts can be anything the groom wants to give, preferably a nice token of appreciation to thank the men for being part of the wedding party. Many grooms like to give the same gift – that’s ok too. There are many things like ties, cufflinks, mini-flasks and other items that make great gifts for groomsmen. These are available in many stores and convenient to get for the busy groom. After the ceremony and during the reception, both the groom and the groomsmen have one responsibility – to have fun and pat themselves on the back for all the hard work.
